Today marks a significant day for us all as we come together to celebrate the 7th Foundation Day of our institution. On this special occasion, we take a moment to reflect on the journey we’ve undertaken and the remarkable strides we’ve made in the field of education for the tribal communities we serve.
The Foundation Day is not just a reminder of our origins, but also an opportunity to acknowledge the incredible work that has been done over the years to empower students and shape their futures. Our mission, rooted in the values of inclusion, equality, and excellence, has been supported by each and every member of the NESTS family. Your dedication has been instrumental in ensuring that our students receive the best education and opportunities to thrive.
Over the past year, NESTS has continued to grow. As of April 2025, the number of functional schools has increased to 477, up from 404 last year. This growth reflects the ongoing commitment to providing education to more tribal students with modern infrastructure, and it is accompanied by a significant increase in student enrolment. In the last one year, foundation stones have been laid for 50 schools whereas construction of 72 EMRSS have been completed. Our students are not only excelling academically, but also their talents extend beyond the classroom with concerted
efforts of staff.
Over the past one year more than 9000 teaching and non-teaching staff have been posted. Along with this, NESTS have taken various new initiatives to simplify the processes and smoothen the operation of EMRS like admission guidelines, transfer policy guideline, NESTS medical attendance rules, lease policy etc.
As we celebrate NESTS Foundation Day, we reflect on our growth, achievements, and the impact we’ve made on tribal education. We are strengthening our commitment to transforming tribal students’ lives through education with continuous efforts year after year. The future is bright, and together, we will continue to build a better tomorrow for our students.
As Commissioner of NESTS, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and admiration to each and every one of you – the dedicated educators, Principals, support staf at EMRS, and all the team members of NESTS and above all ‘our students’. Your unwavering commitment and contributions to the growth of EMRS stand as a true reflection of the ideals that were first envisioned when NESTS was created. With heartfelt gratitude and best wishes on this special day,
It gives me immense pride to witness the growth and dedication of Eklavya Model Residential School in nurturing the potential of tribal students in my district. EMRS represents not just an educational institution, but a transformative platform for empowerment, equality and excellence.

We aim to foster academic brilliance, cultural pride and responsible citizenship among our students, enabling them to become readers and change makers of tomorrow.
We plan to modernize school infrastructure including digital classrooms well- equipped laboratories and safe residential facilities to create a conducive learning environment.
